We Design Safety
KOREA EXPLOSION-PROOF CERTIFICATION CENTER
Korean Explosion-Proof Safety Certification
We assist overseas manufacturers in easily obtaining domestic explosion-proof certification in Korea.
International Certification for Explosion-Proof Service Facilities
We provide support for obtaining international certification for explosion-proof maintenance service providers.
Explosion Hazardous Area Classification Consulting
We support the preparation of hazardous area classification drawings in accordance with IEC standards.
Korean Explosion-Proof Safety Certification
-
Document Review
Evaluation of technical documentation such as design drawings for each type or model of protective device or personal protective equipment to determine conformity with the safety certification standards.
-
Technical Capability and Production System Audit
Assessment of whether the manufacturer’s technical capabilities and production systems meet the standards necessary to consistently maintain the safety performance of explosion-proof products.
-
Product Type Examination
Evaluation of whether the safety performance of the explosion-proof product complies with the safety certification standards.
-
Follow-up Inspection
Annual verification that the manufacturer maintains the conditions approved at the time of certification, including documentation, technical capability, and production systems.
-
Audit of Explosion-proof Equipment Manufactured Overseas (Imported Products)
Documentation review of foreign-certified products upon import into Korea (e.g., international certificates, test reports, etc.).
-
Support for Obtaining Safety Certification under Article 34 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act
International Certification for Explosion-Proof Service Facilities
This is the only international system that provides certification services for organizations that repair and maintain explosion-proof electrical equipment (certified products) installed in hazardous areas such as petrochemical complexes, ensuring continued compliance with international explosion-proof standards through the evaluation of technical capabilities and systems.
Support for obtaining international certification for explosion-proof service facilities in accordance with IECEx 03, OD014, OD015, and IEC 60079-19.
Explosion Hazardous Area Classification Consulting
According to the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Regulations, workplaces that manufacture, handle, or use flammable liquids, gases, or solids must prepare classification drawings for explosion-hazardous areas. Within these areas, explosion-proof electrical equipment and devices with certified protection must be selected and installed.
KECC provides reasonable consulting services for classifying explosion-hazardous areas based on KS IEC standards, and also offers cost-effective consultation for the selection and installation of explosion-proof electrical machinery and equipment.
Explosion-Proof Safety Training
Based on approximately 20 years of professional experience in the KGS Explosion-Proof Testing and Certification Department and current work as a visiting lecturer in explosion-proof safety at the KGS Training Center, KECC provides highly specialized training using a wide range of practical field data.

- To enhance understanding of explosion-proof equipment types, testing methods, and international standards to determine product compliance for industrial installations and prevent fire or explosion accidents.
- To gain the ability to select appropriate explosion-proof equipment based on hazardous area classification and to understand installation and maintenance standards.
Training Topics:
- Overview of explosion-proof equipment and certification system
- Design considerations for explosion-proof equipment
- Design and maintenance of explosion-proof equipment
- Classification of hazardous (explosive) areas
- Testing methods and common nonconformities
